Where Can I Apply For A Canadian Work Permit?
Most of the requirements for a work visa (or work permit) are the same whether you apply from inside Canada or when you enter Canada. Depending on the type of work you intend to do when you enter Canada, you will need to determine how to apply and how long it will take to process your application.
Obtaining a work visa for Canada requires the following documents:
- Work visa application made outside of Canada
- IMM 5645 Family Information Form
- Two (2) clear passport photographs
- Processing fee in the acceptable format.
- Valid international passport – the passport must have one completely blank page other than the last page. The passport expiration date must coincide with the duration of the work permit.
- If applicable, a copy of the Labour Market Opinion (LMO) provided by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
- An offer letter or job offer from your potential Canadian employer that outlines your job title, working conditions, and salary.
- A reference from a previous employer that details previous employment and responsibilities, a copy of relevant education certificates, or proof of professional or vocational qualifications may be used to indicate your suitability for the open position.
