Those who are not permanent residents or citizens of Canada can receive a work visa for Canada that is intended for a specific job and for a specific length of time.

You must either be legally admitted to the country in which this immigration office operates or a citizen of that country in order to apply for a work visa.

It is also important to understand that a work permit and a work visa are the same thing and neither of them confer permanent residence in Canada. However, some individuals may prefer to change their status through Express Entry.

It is necessary to qualify for a work visa through an immigration program as a temporary resident. Spouses and dependents of candidates may be able to apply for work permits or study permits if they wish.

How To Get A Work Visa For Canada

  • Applicants for work visas must obtain a letter of employment or job offer from a Canadian employer who may require approval of a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) before hiring you.
  • Additionally, you will need to provide evidence that you meet the requirements of the job offer.
  • A spouse or common-law partner, or a child under the age of 18, may be able to apply for an open work permit without submitting an employment offer.

A work permit is not required for some jobs. You will only have to apply for a visa freely if you do not require a work permit if you are a citizen of one of the countries that require a temporary resident visa (TRV). In addition, you can find out how to apply for Canada Express Entry.
